Hi,
I'm trying to record data from my HP3458a through signal express. I am able to setup and initialize the DMM on signal express, however, everytime I try to run to record data, I get the configuration error below:
ivi_subDMMInitiate.vi<ERR>
Primary Error: (Hex 0xBFFF003F) A format specifier in the format string is invalid.
<b>Complete call chain:</b>
ivi_subDMMInitiate.vi
ivi_InstrDMMBlockState.vi:1
I installed the ivi driver from the IDN site http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niid_web_display.download_page?p_id_guid=E3B19B3E958A659CE034080020E748...
I'm wondering if anyone else has ran into this issue or if anyone has got their 3458a working through signal express.
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
Can you communicate with the device via a MAX test panel? Does HP have any software that will allow you to test the device?

Hi Matt,
I am able to see the device from the MAX test panel, however, IDN? does not work as it appears that the DMM is made before 488.2 protocol came out and is therefore not compliant. I found this previous discussion that elaborates on it.
Would this be an ivi driver issue then?

Hi,
I also have the same problem when using the HP3458. Has the problem been solve or it is still pending ?
