square wave with USB 6001 or 6002

Can I generate a hardware timed, 100 Hz square wave with a USB 6001 or 6002?

Hello salty,

The specification document for both devices (found at the links below) indicates that hardware timed analog output is possible on both devices.

SPECIFICATIONS NI USB-6001:

http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/374369a.pdf

SPECIFICATIONS NI USB-6002:

http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/374371a.pdf

Each device supports a maximum update rate of 5 kS/s simultaneous per channel, hardware timed. Therefore, you should be able to generate a hardware timed 100 Hz square wave using either device using an analog output task.

Thanks J_Bou,

Thanks for the information and the confirmation. I was able to use one of the examples to produce the square wave.

Hi,

with this devices can you get frecuency about 5000 Hz?

I tried to generate a 5 kHz signal but was only able to generate up to 2.5 kHz.

Hi, you used a Square Waveform VI or something else?

I used the analog output of the 6001 to generate the square wave.  I used the Voltage - Continuous Output.vi from the provided examples.

Did the voltage-continuous. vi examples work for you using NI-DAQ USB 6001 ?

Because for me it is not working, and then when I checked the requirements to run that circuit, nowhere it was mentioned about USB-6001

Could you please send me your vi file or help me with it?

I am fairly new to LabView and NI-DAQ.

Devansh

It works fine if you set it to work within the constraints of the USB-6001.  The sample rate for the USB-6001 is limited to 5kHz and the frequency output for the selected analog output must always be equal to or less than half the sample rate.
