Generating a single pulse with the PXI 5412

I'm creating an arbitrary waveform that is a square wave from 0-5Volts.  I only want this square wave to be outputted as a single pulse and that's it.  The 5412 keeps repeating or cycling back this waveform that I have generated so I get a pulse train, which is not what I want.  Is there any way that I can output just a single pulse?

Thanks for your help.

Set the trigger mode to single.  By default it is continuous.  And if you want the pulse to be output 7 times, set trigger mode to single and repeat count to 7.

We are wanting to do a similiar thing with the PXI-5412.  How do you specify the repeat count?

Where are the trigger modes (and their integer values) defined? Are these correct? They are from an NI white paper called "Triggering Modes":

1. Single
2. Continuous
3. Stepped
4. Burst

This information can be found in the NI-FGEN User manual.

Here is a link to the HTML version of the NI-FGEN User manual to the page that describes these triggering modes: http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/370524R-01/TOC45.htm

Please create another thread if you have more questions.
