sound level bandpass filters

Hello,
Can anyone point out what type of bandpass filters are used for sound level analysis? I am would like to calculate the broadband parameters (Leq, Lmax...) and want to filter the signal so it corresponds to sound level meter readings (I found on one specification page that B^K filters the signal below 3 Hz and above 20KHz). Should IIR of FIR filter be used? Which order? 2nd or 3rd order filters?
Thank you!

Hi,

Thank you for posting to the NI forums.  While NI does not actually make sound level meters, you could probably contact one of the manufacturers for this information.

Otherwise, it is difficult to give any further recommendations without a clear description of how NI’s products fit into the picture.  Post back with more information about your application such as whether you are using LabVIEW, which DAQ device and driver you are using, etc.

Best regards,
