Voltage Limits to SCC-CI20 Module

I am going to be usinga sc-2345 and SCC-CI20 module to measure a 4-20mA signal from a pressure transmitter. An external power supply of 12-30 VDC will be applied to the pressure transmitter. The manufactures diagram shows the +DC from Pwr sup. going to the +side of the transmitter, the -side of the transmitter going to the receiver load, and then going out of the receiver load to the - DC Pwr Sup. Do I connect the SCC-CI20 as the receiver load? Is there a limit to the voltage the SCC-Ci20 module can take,(12-30VDC I hope is OK)?

Ranger1,

Yes you need to connect the CI20 in series with the transmitter so that it could measure the current.

The SCC-CI20 can handle a maximum working voltage of 15V from channel-to-earth. This spec can be found on page 13 of your users manual.

Hope this helps.
