SCXI Scales

Are the scales programmed into NI-MAX software used to program some EEPROM chip on SCXI chassis? If not, where the scaling of the analog inputs with the programmed scales actually occurs?
I am considering to use polynomial scales for large number of the inputs. My concern is that polynomial versus linear scales could slow down my data acquisition process (A/D conversion or signal conditioning).

Greetings,

The scaling takes place in software. It will not affect your DAQ or signal conditioning hardware. Scaling does require some processing overhead, but I doubt that you will see a significant performance difference between not scaling and scaling your data.

Good luck with your application.
