SCXI 1160

Hi My name is Pierre-Francois,

I am an application/support engineer.

We have a 6508 connected to 1160 through the 50pin flat cable. It seems that it is possible to programm SCXI relays trought the 6508.

Ni Support told is that:
There are 4 useful
registers in 1160: SERCLK,SLOT0SEL DAQD*/A SERDATIN, which are connected
with 6508's PB0,PB1,PB2,PB3 respectively. If we send a sequence of
signals on these 4 wires, we can control the action of the 1160 relays.

1-If I have a real-time application do I need to programms these relays at the initialisation or at each time step.

2-I am not able to get documentation about how to set SCXI registers.Could you send me some documentation.

Best regards
Pierre-Francois

Hello Pierre-Francois -

Register-level programming is beyond the scope of free support provided by National Instruments. However, I have attached an old SCXI Register Level Programmer Manual. This document is provided as is to assist you. It has not been reviewed in many years and there are no plans to review or revise this manual.

Have a great day!
