How to configure the outputs voltage of NI 9477

Solved!
Go to solution

Hello,

I'm trying to control a motor driver using a cRIO 9074 with the NI 9477 module. I would like to configure the outputs voltage of the module and as I understand, they range between 5 to 60V.

How can I have an output of 24V ?

Thank you.

Hi JaneDoe94,

Thank you for posting.

Here is the specification of your module :

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS AND SPECIFICATIONS NI 9477

According to page 8 and 9 (see pecture below) you will need an external power supply.

You should have a more detailed picture on the side of your module.

Hope it will help you.

Best Regards,

Thank you Isabelle.

So if I understand correctly, can I use an output as a switch ?

If I choose a pull-up resistor so the current stay under 1A, would this work ?

For example, I'm thinking of using R = 20kOhms and DC = 24V. I need the current to stay below 5mA.

The 9477 is basically a relay to connect to ground.  But do watch your voltage and current limits.  The maximum current it can sink is 0.625A per line.  So make sure you stay below that.
