FPGA chassis deploy problem

Solved!
Go to solution

I just checked again.

I formatted the cRIO and just installed base RSS. I could deploy the Chassis but I couldn't compile the FPGA code since the Softmotion addon is not installed.

After that I installed softmotion addon and same problem, deployment error, occured .

Hey Geehoon,

I happened to find this thread http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Missing-deployment-plug-in-cRIO-9082-and-NI-9514/td-p/2782588. It looks like a similar issue. The resoultion was installing NI-Motion (http://www.ni.com/download/ni-motion-8.5.1/4355/en/) and then re-installing software to the target. Unfortunately, I don't have the details on how or why this fixed the issue, but I'd say it's worth a try.

Hi Sebastian,

Sadly, installing NI-Motion didn't help.

However I found the way to get around the problem. I think the problem is mainly caused by compatibility between cRIO 9024 and NI-SCAN engine.

I've noticed that cRIO 9024 doesn't provide scan mode option (changing the chassis into SCAN mode also caused an error saying bascially the device cannot run on scan mode). So the device is confused with Scan mode and keep trying to run with it eventhough the chassis setting is FPGA mode. It's just my guess...

So what I ended up doing was creating a new project and changing the chassis into labview FPGA interface mode when I'm adding a new target device (it gave me an option when I was trying to add a target device). Interestingly, I don't really have to write a whole new project. After I set the device into FPGA mode I could deploy the chasssis in the old code.

Thanks a million for the help !!
