sweep power with PXIe5630

hi,

I'm trying to make a sweep power on my PXIe 5630 (VNA)to measure magnitude phase and I'm not finding the solution ! This VNA is supposed to have the same option as "classical VNA" I used before that's why I'm little bit supprised by not finding it.

How can I handle this?

I'm open for every solution that could help.

Thanks

Ossan

Hi GhostCole,

Using the VNA Soft Front Panel, choose the Sweep -> Power Sweep

Then go to Power menu then input the required settings.

Or by using a sample VI: niVNA_PowerSweep.vi

Thanks James,

I tried it but it seems like I don`t have those options on my VNA ( I'm using the PXIe5630 by the way)

Any other solution ?

Hi,

What version of NI VNA soft front panel are you using?

Try to update if not the latest: http://www.ni.com/download/ni-vna-2.0.1/3784/en/

If still the Sweep Menu is not available in the soft front panel, you can use the sample VI attached on the previous message.

Thanks.

Regards,

James

Hi,

I have the 2.0.1 version of NI VNA. I download and update it as suggested, but nothing changed ! Same problem, only frequence seems to be sweepable ! The vi joined on the previous mail, specified a configuration or parameter problem and I really don`t know what to do !

Hello Ossan,

Judging from this help document, it seems like the power sweep is supported only on the 5632:

http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/373153C-01/vnaviref/nivna_configure_sweep/

The NI VNA shipping example for doing a power sweep only has 5632 listed as a supported device.

The specs sheet of the 5630 does not mention power sweep where as the one for the 5632 does.

All these things lead me to believe that device does not support power sweep

Hello GhostCole,

I'm not sure what you mean by new generation of VNA and which older versions you are referring to. I was trying to explain that the 5630 does not support power sweep but the 5632 does. This is explain in the help file that I linked in my previous post.
