pxi-5122 vs pxi-5122ex

what are the differences between the PXI-5122 and PXI-5122EX? does the EX have the same functionality as the non-EX, but with additional functionality? is the EX a drop in replacement for the non-EX? are there difference software requirements for the EX vs the non-EX? is there a specific datasheet/manual for the PXI-5122EX?

any help would be greatly appreciated!

thanks!

Hello reichenbach,

The PXI-5122EX was a customized product for a specific customer, and the device is now End of Life.

Thanks! Thats what I was figuring. But do you know the specification differences? Does the pxi-5122ex has all base functionality as the pxi-5122? if so, what additional features does it have over the pxi-5122.

thanks again!

The PXI-5122EX did have the same specifications as the PXI-5122, as it used the same analog front end circuitry.  The main difference was that it allowed for the limited addition of custom logic in the firmware by the end user.  The PXI-5122EX has been EOL'ed, and is no longer supported or sold.

The new NI Reconfigurable Oscilloscope, the PXIe-5171R, features an open and user-programmable FPGA with LabVIEW FPGA, and allows for the complete customization of the device.  For more information on this exciting product, see its product page:

I hope this helps!
