nilsdev on Linux returns no devices after a time - how can cards be 're-scanned'

On Linux, after installing NIDaqMX and NIDMM drivers, nilsdev reports a number of cards in a PXI chassis. (6509 Digio, 4070 DMM, 2503 Mux)

After some time, (we suspect some sort of a power interruption), nilsdev reports NO devices.

Is there a way to force the NI Drivers to "re-scan" the PXI bus to re-build the cache of devices it has ?

Uninstalling and re-installing the software seems to 'find' the devices again, but that is not a desirable solution.

Hi,

What version of NIDMM and NIDAQmx do you have? Also what distribution of Linux?

We have seen the issue on RHEL Workstation 6.x, as well Fedora 15 ( I realize Fedora is officially 'unsupported', but it tracks RHEL as far as the kernel and drivers go)

We are using NI DMM 2.5.2, and NIDAQmx 8.0.2

The latest version of NIDMM that we support with Linux is NIDMM 2.5. The following link shows which versions of Linux are supported for NIDMM 2.5. I would recommend checking those versions out to see if that fixes the issue.

Also, here is a download for NIDMM 2.5 for Linux:
