about PXI system module hardware design(PXI_TRIG,PXI_LBR signals)

Hi, everyone

I want to design a PXIe system baord. From PXIe spec, I knew PXIe have some special signals, such as PXI_TRIG,PXI_STAR,PXI_LBR,etc.

I want to know how to connect these signals in my system board? Can I connect them directly to CPU's GPIOs?

Linuxunion,

The lines that you have described in the PXIe spec are using for advanced timing and triggering.  They aren't actually used to communicate with a CPU, so I doubt you would need to make that connection.  These signals are typically routed to the STC3 timing chip either directly or indirectly through some other network.  If you are looking to only communicate over PCI or PCIe, you will just want to follow that specification and make sure you route the pins to the appropriate locations.  You may want to also double check the PXI_LBR line as that one is for the local bus which was removed in favor of the PCIe bus on the PXIe spec.
