Will a PCIe-8361 work with a Dell Optiplex 745?

I have a Dell Optiplex 745 that I am trying to get to work with an NI PCIe-8361 MXI Express card.  Everything works fine in my Optiplex GX280, but I get an error when I transfer the card into my Optiplex 745.  The error occurs before the BIOS screen even comes up.  The error is:  "Error Initializing PCI Express Slot 4".

I have downloaded and installed new BIOS from Dell.com and that didn't help.  I see that the Optiplex 755 has been tested by NI, so I would have thought that the 745 would have worked, too.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Come to find out, a PCIe-8361 will in fact work with a Dell Optiplex 745.  The PXI chassis needs to be connected to the PC in order for the PC to recognize the PCIe card and not throw the error.

Thanks Mike,

I had the same error...until I read your post!

The MXI Express Card 8361, worked fine in HP workstation, instead when I transfer it in a DELL Server, an error occurred before the BIOS screen even comes up.  After connecting the link cable to the PXI 1044 chassis, the PC  recognized the PCIe card and not throw the error.

Thanks again.

Marco
