Self calibration of NI7833R for NI-RIO

During the Self Calibration of the NI 7833R for NI-RIO how is the on board calibration reference determined and can that measurement be verified on a particular pin accessible to the calibration techician or retrieved from flash memory.  It is stated with a specification of 5V+/-3.5mV and our local QA wants to be able to verify that value since all calculated calibration points are referenced to that level.  Thanks and have a great day!!!

Hi Wunder,

From the R Series Intelligent DAQ User Manual, "The NI 783xR/784xR/785xR has an onboard calibration reference to ensure the accuracy of self-calibration. The reference voltage is measured at the factory and stored in the flash memory for subsequent internal calibrations."  It isn't meant to be readable.  National Instruments offers calibration services to ensure your hardware meets its published specifications.

You may also want to consider external calibration, which is the most accurate method.  More information can be found in the NI 783xR Calibration Procedure for NI-RIO
