Recommended equipment for calibrating PXI-6602/6608?

The calibration procedure for PXI-6602/6608 requires a highly stable 10 Mhz clock source, but it doesn't give any specific model/manufacturer. Does NI make a clock source that can be used, or can you recommend a specific instrument that I can use to supply this signal.

Hi Rick,

PXI-6602 calibration requires a 10 MHz, 5 MHz, or 1 MHz clock source that is accurate to within 1 ppm. This clock can be provided by the PXI-6608. The 6608 has a 10 MHz clock that is accurate to 0.075 ppm over 1 year. This information can be found on page 2 of the 6601/6602 Calibration Procedure.

Since the 6608 has such an accurate clock it requires an even more accurate source to calibrate it. 6608 calibration requires a 10 MHz source that is accurate to 0.75 part-per-billion (ppb). We recommend using a rubidium frequency standard clock source. However any 10 MHz clock source that meets the 0.75 ppb spec can be used. This information can be found on page 2 of the NI 6608 Timing I/O Device Calibration Procedure.

Please let me know if you have any questions and take care.

Thanks,
Nathan

Thank You. We currently use a Fluke 910R GPS receiver/Rubidium clock as our 10Mhz reference source, and it looks like that should be accurate enough.
