Porting an Existing Real Time VI to Vxworks

We have a working VI in Labview Real Time.

We need access to a Profitnet Card and Profidrive Slave  software

These driver and software exists in VxWorks.

We are trying to figure out how hard it would be to export our existing VI to VX works?

The other options would be how hard is to develop a driver for a card in Labview RT given that we could get the source code for the windows or vxworks driver.

Thank you for contacting National Instruments.

I have looked into your issue and unfortunately you cannot install VxWorks on a PXI controller. This is because the hardware requirements prevent the installation.

Also, I cannot say how difficult it is to create a VISA driver.  It depends on the number and variety of commands you require of the Profinet card.  I recommend that you review the Application Notes in the Hardware Connectivity Section of the RT Third-Party Compatibility page.

Other users who may have implemented a solution along these lines may have more information on this issue.  I hope this helps!
