It looks like the remaining options are to try a defrag and to try to update the bios. Your hard drive does not seem to be overly full and obviously the number of files in the directory doesn't seem to matter. I am going to try to track down a step by step approach to defragging the hard drive. The basic idea is to add the dos defrag utility to the bootable USB key and run the utility from the command line after booting. Unfortunately I don't have a step by step guide on hand at the current time. As far as flashing the BIOS is concerned the error seems strange. I am continuing to escalate the issue to see if others have run into the issue. I will keep you posted on the progress.
