The ***REGISTER DUMP FROM EXCEPTION HANDLER (code 18) *** is a catch-all error message.  Because of this, it's hard to say what exactly caused it.  I'm pretty sure the state of your application somehow corrupted some files, perhaps there was a file i/o write operation at the same time a power cycle occurred--which caused the corruption.

The best course of action in this case is to begin un-installing drivers one by one (assuming you can still talk to the controller in MAX), and see if all of a sudden it boots up normally.  In which case you can then re-install that particular driver.  You can also take care of it all at once using a format disk and then re-installing all the software from you host PC.

There's also a small possibility that there is a driver conflict on the controller, but this seems unlikely since your application was previously working fine.

Hello Gibbi,

Are you experiencing the same problem?  The exact same error?  Have you tried the steps listed in Jeff M's post?

Please respond with more details about your problem, and I will be glad to help you troubleshoot.

Regards,
Sean C.
