PXI 8156B GPIB does not show up on MAX

I just upgraded from labview RT 6.1 to 7.0. I have an embedded
real-time controller 8156B on PXI-1002 chassis. I also have PXI-6025E
in slot 3, and 6527 in slot 4. My code requires the use of GPIB port
on the 8156B to communicate with external instruments. I can see on
MAX>>Remote systems>>My Controller>>Device and Interfaces>> I have two
items: 1. PXI System identified as PXI-8150B serie. It includes
chassis PXI-1002 that contains the PXI cards slot 3 and 4.
2. Ports, shows com1, com2, and parallel port.

GPIB is missing. when I reight-click on Devices and Interfaces in the
remote systems, and choose create new, I get an empty dialog. When I
repeat the same step for My system, I get a dialog to choose from many
instruments, which inclu
des the GBIP.

First, verify that NI-VISA is installed on the RT system. You can verify this by highlighting your controller under the Remote Systems section and clicking on the Software tab.

Next, highlight your controller under the Remote Systems section and click on the VISA Options tab. After doing so, highlight the VISA Settings option from the feature tree and make sure that this controller is configured to "Auto find every GPIB-VXI" device.

Lastly, take a look at the following KnowledgeBase for information on accessing your GPIB Port from MAX:

Hope this helps.
