PXI-6221 and PXI-2566 not recognized in MAX

Configuring RT PXI system: 1050 chassis, 8108 controller in slot 1, slot 2 empty, 6221 AI cards in slots 3&4, 6733 AO cards in slots 5&6, 6529 DIO card in slot 7 and 2566 Relay card in slot 8. 8108 controller was previously operating LV 8.6.1RT with same application but other AI hardware (6052E, obsoleted), has been upgraded to NI-DAQmx 9.5.1 and then  9.6.2 and LV 2009. MAX does not recognize 6221 or 2566 cards, others are OK.

How is everything showing up in Windows Device Manager (everything should be under Data Acquisition Devices)?  Have you tried deleting the devices from MAX and right click >> uninstalling them from Device Manager, and then subsequently clicking Action >> Scan for Hardware Changes in Device Manager?  What happens then?  Screenshots of what you're seeing in Device Manager and MAX might help the community generate ideas.

Hi Michael,

Thanks for responding. The PXI is a Real Time system, not windows based, so there is no device manager to check. Attached doc has screenshots of MAX configuration, you will see that the devices are there in the remote system, but only simulated. I did that to confirm that the NI-DAQ version should support the devices.

OK, problem solved more or less. Issue was in the 1050 chassis, not NI-DAQ, controller or cards. Weird that some cards were found ok, others not but it must have something to do with how the bus transfers the data to/from certain types of cards. Of course, its a bit problematic that the failure is on a brand-new (but on the shelf long enough to be out of warranty) chassis....

Interesting, thanks for posting back.  The next thing I was going to want to check was whether other cards worked in slots 3 and 4, etc. and whether those AI cards worked in another chassis if available.  If the chassis can't register anything in certain slots, an RMA may be worth considering.
