PXI-5105 FS Ranges

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

Is it possible to use the PXI-5105 at input ranges other than the ones mentioned in the data sheet, i.e 0.05, 0.2, 1, 6 and 30Vpp? In other words, could I specify a FS range of 0.4Vpp or are there only 5 discrete levels available?

Thanks!

Hi AjaySinghvi,

The ranges that are listed are merely for the ADC gain such that you get the best resolution depending on the impedance that you have. If you're in the 50 ohm impedance range, you're only going to be able to have input ranges between .05 - 6V. For the 1M-ohm range, you can go up to 30V. You can certainly specify 0.4Vpp. The datasheet just ensures how good your resolution will be past a certain voltage for a given impedance.

Thanks!

Aulia V.
