MXI-3 only has 2 pairs going through the cable. They're on pins 1&3 and 6&8. One pair is for data in one direction, the other pair for the other direction.
Even if you could tell from the LEDs which direction is broken it won't tell you where the fault is. In other words, if one side isn't receiving anything from the other side, there's no way to say whether it's card A's transmitter or connector, the cable, or card B's connector or receiver. All are plausible.
You might be able to send the kit in for repair, or you could buy the modern equivalent. Up to you.

Thanks Robert.
Could you please tell me which is the modern equivalent?

If you want to use a PCI slot in your computer, see this link (pn 781764-03):

I'd recommend getting the PCI Express version for the host card, assuming you have a PCIe slot (pn 779505-03). You get better performance, and it's easier to find PCs:

Those part numbers are for the kits with 3m cables.

OK, Thanks again Robert. As espected the NI hardware is very expensive, for me I don´t have this budget. I taked these cards from Ebay, so the only thing I can do is send them back and recover the money.
Thanks¡¡
