Motion control

Hi,

I'm Jason from PAVAC Industries (www.pavac.com). We bought NI LabVIEW development suite, PXI and PXI-7833R this October to
develop a motion control system. I am using 3rd part motor and motor driver. The quadrature encoder feedback
from the motor driver is RS422 standard. I wonder whether I could connect the 6 quadrature encoder signals directly
to the PXI-7833R DIO. Inside the PXI-7833R I use the logic "If Cha+ > Cha-, then encoder phase A is high,
else it is low", the same logic for phase B and index Z.

Jason--

I want to apologize for the delay and wish you a Happy New Year!!  So the encoder feedback is RS 422,  so then if you can determine which pins represent the signals and they output a 5V TTL pulse then you shouldn't have a problem hooking it up to your 7833.   Once again, you'll just have to check and make sure which pins are the signal and verify that the signal is 5 V TTL. Was that what you were asking?  I hope that helped, if not and you have any others questions don't hesitate to reply.  Thanks.
