Error : media write protected

Hi

When I install RT with Format disk, I have this error:   Warning Kernel 346531 : Floppy I/O Error : Media is write protected.

After, when I reboot, I have this message:    Reboot and select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device.

If I reboot with the boot disk, I have:    Searching hard disk for boot programm... not found     Using safe mode program on floppy disk.

I disabeled USB, peripheral, etc.. in the BIOS.

Thanks for your help.

Hello,

Some questions will help us narrow this down:

1) What is your target? A PC? A PXI Controller? If so, which controller?
2) How is the floppy drive attached? USB or regular?
3) Did the target previously have RT on it or is this a new RT installation?

Thanks to answer me,

1) My target is a PC and I installed LabVIEW RT ETS on it.
2) I have a regular floppy drive
3) It's the first RT installation

Now, I can boot with PC Boot disk but not with the computer directly.

Yan.

Did the hard drive used to formatted with NTFS (likely if it had Windows XP on it)? If so, you're going to have to manually format the drive as FAT32 first before you're able to use the Real Time Format disk. You can grab a floppy disk image from a site like http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm.
