Hi Doc K,

We doesn't have chassis for PCI cards, we only have PXI chassis. I am not sure what you mean when you ask if PXI would work.
PXI chassis are specifically for PXI cards, so unless you have PXI equivalent for your PCI card then you won't be able to use a PXI chassis.
From these two links you can see the difference between a PCI and a PXI board:
I hope this answers your question.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Tica, Thanks for your fast reply. I  understand.
1) NI has no multiple (large) PCI card chassis.

2) I meant would the "PXI [chassis] work" and the answer is no..because it only holds PXI cards (or apparently compact PCI cards).

I was looking for a way to get a PXI chassis with a variety of DAQ and other needs, but I also need a card cage for at least 4 full PCI cards in this system.

thx, Doc K

This can be your ideal system configuration:

Go for a PC ( probably industrial PC) with multi PCI slots, ( you can specify to vendor as to how many PCI slots you want)

Additionally you con go for a PXI chassis , with PXI cards.
Now, you can have A PCI -PXI MXI link to operate the PXI chassis from same PC

this link will take you to MXI 4 product page
hope this helps

Another point, if you have PCIe slots in your system, you could host a PXI or PXI Express chassis using our MXI-Express products.
