Differences between PXI and PXIe

Hi

Good day, sorry if i posted in wrong section.

As mentioned in the title, what are the difference between PXI and PXIe besides speed, and connector.

As i know PXI is based on PCI so the data transfer should in Parallel, while for PXIe which based on PCIe, the data transfer is serially. Am i true? If true, how they said it is compatible?

Hope can get a detail differences between them, i had googled but get nothing. Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Chong Han

PXI and PXIe are not compatible with each other unless you have a hybrid slot in your PXI chassis.  Most things are going the way of PXIe due to the bandwidth increase.  Otherwise, I'm pretty sure you still have all of the trigger and clock lines.
