Recently updated to NI-SYNC 3.0. Now cannot read serial number from PXI-6653. NI_Max also returns "0" for serial number. Older version of NI-SYNC used to read serial number. Need to be able to read serila number for asset and system audit control purposes. The function for read serial number is still in the API. It appears to not be working.

Thank you so much for posting your question. R&D is aware of this behaviour and is working on a resolution. As of now, if you need this functionality in your code, it is recommended that you use the previoius version of NI-SYNC, 2.0.1.
