Can I use PXI-8221 pc card carrier with PXI-8106 controller for cardbus?

I need to use cardbus with PXI system that is consist of PXI-8106 controller and other measurement modules.
I will not use pcmcia(16bit), but use cardbus(32bit).
I have seen some note about interrupt problem of pcmcia and PXI-8221.
Is it same problem in the case of using cardbus only?

If the PXI-8221 is not compatible with PXI-8106 for cardbus,
Please recommend other 3rd-party PXI carrier module to use with PXI-8106 controller.

Hi,

There should be no reason why the PXI-8106 and the PXI-8221 shouldn't work together.

I'm not sure the above answer is correct. I have not seen the 8221 work with any newer PXI controller (from the 8196 onwards) due to interrupt serialization issues with controllers that use PCI Express architectures. I don't believe the 16/32 bit PCMCIA vs. cardbus issue is the problem. The 8196, 8105 and 8106 PXI controllers are all based on PCIe (even though they are PXI controllers). I have not found a solution to this issue so far.

The PXI-8221 may work with the PXI-8106 controller for certain applications.  There are issues with interrupt conflicts depending on the PCMCIA card that is chosen and each application must be validated individually and with the understanding that there is a reasonable chance that the PCMCIA card chosen may not be supported.  I would recommend into considering other support options as well including looking for USB versions of the PCMCIA card.
