Project Title: DESTRO (Delusive Envisage based Scrutiny Transit and Retraction capable Orion

What challenge/problem are you trying to solve through your application:

At areas like LOC (Line of Control), at borders and while defense forces running operations, DESTRO will be of ultimate help. This will help protect the lives of soldiers as it will secure a safe path and has a facility to attack from remote locations. The thought that we should be of some help to the soldiers protecting us with their lives was the motivation behind the project.

 

  The number of thefts occurring at houses is also alarming, hence the plan to modify DESTRO according to domestic applications. Also the features of DESTRO provide multiple utilities/ benefits to the user.


How does your application solves the above mentioned challenge/problem:

The modules of the proposed project are:

  1. Frontal line LASER and wireless camera based obstacle detection
  2. Wireless camera feedback to the user
  3. Simultaneous online publishing of the videos so that the user can view from anywhere and there is no restriction on number of users
  4. Clearance checking using IR proximity sensors
  5. Communication between host and bot using Xbee
  6. Automatic navigation with feedback to host
  7. Manual override and communication using Xbee
  8. Manual override and communication using DTMF (Mobile)
  9. GPS co-ordinates are fed back for the host to monitor the location
  10. Pantilt controlled using mobile to fire at the target
  11. Robotic arm to pick up objects from the ground by following hand gestures
  12. Presence of homing beacon to light up based on mobile control

13. Buzzer controlled by mobile phone to warn/intimate people in its vicinity

Description of Project:

The innovation developed will be of aid to the general public during their daily activities and also to be used in defense applications.

Multiple situations and criteria have been considered and evaluated. The modules and sub-modules that ideally served the purpose have been developed and interlinked.

The innovation developed will serve in spying and easily evading, monitoring, carrying objects of interest to specified location, retrieving objects from specified areas and is capable of being offensive when ever required. Hence, the name Delusive Envisage  based Scrutiny Transit and Retraction capable Orion.
