Slow background conversion on a cDAQ with a NI9214 card

I'm having troubles getting my primary loop rate > 3 Hz on my cDAQ chassis with VeriStand.  I know it is doable within LabVIEW / MAX, but VeriStand is giving me problems.

Hardware setup:  cDAQ-9188 chassis

Slot 1: NI 9264

Slot 2: NI 9205

Slot 3: NI 9214

I have tried several combinations of primary timing set to the NI 9205, etc.  Nothing seems to be working.  Suggestions?

I finally gave up and called NI.  For anyone trolling through later that happens to come across this post, here was the response from one of the applications engineers:

"The proper way to get this data would be to use a 9144 (EtherCAT) chassis with the EtherCAT Scan Engine Custom Device instead of a 9188 (which is technically not supported, but still works).  If you're stuck with the 9188, I would suggest reading in the values as a waveform, and using the Waveform Processing Custom Device on GitHub to convert them to single-point channels you could read in LabVIEW.  Here is a link to the custom device:
