repeat failed sequences in main

Hi,

In my main sequence i have many standalone steps and sequence files.  When any of the sequence files Fails, I'd like to repeat up to three times until it Passes.  But I don't want to do this for the standalone steps in the main sequence.

Is adding Looping the best way to do this (e.g.  Loop 3 iteration until 1 pass) to each of the sequence file?

Thanks,

Hi,

in fact looping is a designed for doing that. It is the first choise.

But sometimes you will have some "trouble" on the reporting side, especically when testing as long as it will pass.

(and knowing we should not do that... hope no Testmanger will read this thread...)

By looping a sequence also the failed ones will be reported.(good for the Testmanager...)

By disabling looping reports you have just the loop report that this sequence has passed, but without any subsequnce ResultList (dont do that!)

Checkout this thread. There you will find an other solution for repeating failed sequnces.

Hope this helps
