ni teststand exception

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

Whenever I try to insert an action as a step in NI TestStand, I get the following exception --

Teststand exception

I tried to search on these boards but could not find such an issue. This problem started since I upgraded to LV 2012 Developer suite (32 bit) from LV 2011 recently. I'd appreciate any help/suggestions.

Thank you.

Capgen,

Have you tried this on another pc?

I had this exact same issue with a particular dev pack that was released where the LabVIEW and TestStand versions did not work together. I cannot recall if this was 2012 DS1 or earlier but it stung me a couple of times.

I believe my work around at the time was to use 2012 LabVIEW but 2011 TestStand. Do you have 2012 DS2?

Can anybody add more detail to the above?

Steve,

Thanks for the suggestion.

I don't have TestStand 2011. On a quick search I could not find previous versions of NI TestStand on NI websites either.

Do you are someone here know if older versions of TestStand are available for download?

Thanks.

Hi Steve,

I still see the same exception in TestStand2010SP1 (4.5.1) while using it with LV 2012. I should probably revert to LV 2011. Do you have any other ideas I could try?

I have not tried it on another machine yet (don't have one.)

The problem is now fixed. Here is the TS/LV combination that worked for me.

TS = 4.2.1

LV = 2012

Thank you.

I tried with TS 2010 SP1 and LV 2012.

Checked the example did not face any issue.

In any case did you try to install the udpates ( just run NI service updates).
