custom data type

Hi,

I have modified the NI's simple OI to create a custom OI. I have just six buttons in the OI. I have configured these buttons as Execution Entry

Points. Now I need to enable/disable these buttons according to the user privileges. Since I cannot add any privilege to the already existing

Standard data type "User", should I create a custom data type ? If at all I create a custom data type, how do I link all these?

My need is actually to add some more privileges to the already existing privileges like "Operate, Debug, Configure and Develop"....

Hi Sahana,

You should be able to add custom privileges to the User data type.  You might need to allow editing of NI types by going to Configure>>Sequence Editor Options (only in older versions of TestStand).  I would recommend adding a new container underneath the privileges called "Custom" and adding your custom privilieges here.   If you are still having trouble editing the User step type, could you provide a screenshot of the error message?
