Why do we always use the vi"Not A Number/Path/Refnum?" to judge if the sequence context exists?

When we program using LabVIEW and TestStand,we always use the vi"Not A Number/Path/Refnum?" to judge if the sequence context exists.
If it exists, we can get properties from TestStand using the vi "Get properties" directly, and if not , we get properties from the controls palette which we have default values on
the palette.
Why?Can we delete the control palette? And when does the sequence context not exist?
Thank you!

Hi,

The SequenceContext doesn't exist if the VI is run outside of TestStand.

If your VI's are always run with TestStand, then you dont need to check the SequenceContext exists.
