I hope some of you TestStand guys can help me here:
I have a problem with updating a step type and at the same time preserving the settings from the sequence files. How to do this?
My old step type has now been used in many sequence files. The step
type has a lot of settings that are stored in the context tree. I
now have a new version of the step type where some of the entries in
the context tree has changed (some are deleted and replaced by new
ones). When I load the old sequences with my new step type I'm asked if
I want to use currently loaded (=convert) or use the sequence file. But
none of these possibilities preserves the customers settings since in
both cases some of the original settings will get lost (replaced by
default values) or will not be accessible.
How do I upgrade all the old sequence files to a new step type AND
convert the old settings to the new version of the step type? The
conversion may need some code to execute - it is not just moving
properties around.
Thansk in advance.
