How do I use a custom Icon for a TestStand Step Type?

I have created an icon (32 x 32 bitmap with the .ico extention)
and wish to use it for a TestStand Step Type.

How do I do this?

Thanx to you all,

Andre

Hi,

When you create a new step type, you have the option to attach an icon file. You will find this on the General Tab.

See the TestStand Reference Manual Chapter 13 for Creating Custom Step Types.

Yeah, I know this.

The problem is:

how can I get the icon that I created
listed in the ring "Designate an Icon" ?

Thanks again and best regards,

Andre

Any icon that you have in your /Components/User/Icons and \Components\NI\Icons directories will automatically be added to the list. Be sure that the icon has the proper size (I believe 16x16) available. This may be why the icon is not showing up in your case.

Thanks a lot Allen P,

This solved my Problem!

The Icon must be 16 x 16 pixels and not
just a windows bitmap, but a special Icon-File.
(renaming the extention .bmp to .ico won't work)

Thanks also to Ray!

Best Regards,
