Changing Execution RunTimeVariables in nested interactive executions?

Hi,
 
I'm using TestStand 3.1 and use execution runtime variables in my application.
A nested interactive execution is said to run within the context of the normal execution, but
when the value of a runtime variable is changed in a nested interactive execution, it's not
reflected when back in the normal execution. Is this the way it should work, or am I
doing something wrong?
