Re: What To Expect At NIWeek 2017

With 125 exhibiting companies and access to thousands of the world’s top engineers, scientists, and academic leaders from a variety of industries and public organizations, NIWeek 2017 is sure to build on its legacy of providing the ultimate learning environment.

NIWeek helps you develop faster, smarter, and more cost-efficient applications- as well as adapting to the trends driving technology and science today. At the event, you can participate in more than 200 hours of interactive technical sessions and more than 35 hours of hands-on workshops for all experience levels, as well as attend dynamic keynotes.

Here’s this year’s content lineup:

Technical Session Tracks

These tracks showcase current tech trends in lecture-style and hands-on workshops, organized in the following five technical tracks:

  • Advanced Users: Hear from highly proficient LabVIEW Champions as they share their years of experience troubleshooting process, code optimization and organization, and other programming challenges. Attend intermediate to advanced sessions designed for LabVIEW Champions and knowledgeable LabVIEW users who want to enhance their programming skill sets.
  • Automated Test Systems: Collaborate with industry and product experts on the tools and techniques that help you succeed in building modular and automated test systems. Learn new ways and best practices to build better test stations by combining NI hardware and software.
  • Data Acquisition Systems: Explore the process of acquiring, analyzing, presenting, and managing data to make key decisions and discoveries when designing, validating, and testing a product or conducting research. Obtain best practices on hardware and software architectures, setup, and development from experts.
  • Embedded Systems: Discover better ways to design control and monitoring systems that maximize flexibility, reduce time to market, and minimize both cost and risk. Examine tools and techniques to help you focus more of your time and resources on delivering innovation and competitive differentiation.
  • Software Development Systems: Understand the technologies and techniques that can help you build better software applications. Hear from experienced users and NI experts on how to increase productivity and system flexibility and ensure optimal performance.
  • Learning Labs:  Expand your skill set and increase your technical proficiency with the new Learning Labs track. Hear from experienced instructors as they deliver a complete learning module exploring intermediate technical topics and improve your programming skills.

Summits

Our industry-focused summits are like mini-conferences within NIWeek. These summits offer a chance to learn about new tech trends in keynote sessions, technical product trainings, and demonstrations by industry-leading researchers and our own developers. Visit the corresponding pavilions on the exhibition floor to check out each summit.

  • 5G: The 5G Summit at NIWeek brings together the world’s premier thought leaders on 5G wireless technology and applications including mmWave, Massive MIMO, and new advances in wireless networking.  In 2017, the 5G Summit will extend its focus to new applications and the experts will discuss how 5G will impact businesses, unlocking tremendous economic value.
  • Autonomous Vehicles (formerly Transportation): Vehicles’ continuous to advancement toward autonomous operation increases the complexity and burden of design and testing. See how NI solutions help companies design and test from concept to production, including device test and characterization, hardware-in-the-loop simulation, test cell measurement and control, in-vehicle data logging, and infotainment test.
  • Digital Energy (formerly Energy): Power electronics systems are in almost everything that uses electricity—the power grid, mass transportation, food preservation, shipping, homes, automobiles, and even the device in your pocket. At this summit, hear from technical and industry experts about how the increasing adoption of the Internet of Things continues to profoundly affect the way we research, design, test, and maintain these power electronics systems, from smart devices to smart grids.
  • Semiconductor Test:  As a smarter, more connected world becomes the growth driver for the semiconductor industry, test engineers are finding that the traditional test equipment (ATE) is inadequate to meet the expanding test requirements, often driving up the cost of test. Learn how the industry leaders adapts to the escalating complicity and future challenges.
  • Smart Machines (formerly Vision): The Industry 4.0 manufacturing trend results in smart machines that not only perform repetitive manufacturing tasks at soaring speeds and high accuracy rates but also adapt to changing conditions and operate more autonomously than ever before. At the Smart Machines Summit, explore the design, deployment, and maintenance of smart machines, from machine vision and advanced motion control to network security and prescriptive analytics.

Special Events and Workshops

In addition to all our technical sessions, NIWeek gives you some great opportunities to meet industry and academic leaders, learn about engineers in the NI Community, and grow your product knowledge at special events and workshops. Here they are:

Alliance Day

This full-day, multitrack event on Monday, May 22 is reserved exclusively for our Alliance Partners. The day offers NI product and technology updates, best practice sharing, and networking opportunities.

See More Details on Alliance Day >>>

Build Your Own Embedded System

As part of Alliance Day, take advantage of the opportunity to develop your own embedded system. One of our qualified instructors will introduce you to the LabVIEW RIO architecture, giving you hands-on experience building an FPGA-based embedded system with the LabVIEW RIO Evaluation Kit, which you take home after the conference.

Academic Forum

Also on Monday May 22, the Academic Forum provides an exclusive platform for academic professionals to share best practices in engineering education methodologies, discuss the future of engineering and research, and network with colleagues from around the world.
