Where to find the .sym files for custom symbol integration

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

I would like to add a custom Schottky diode to my Multisim 11.0 schematic. I would like to use the Schottky diode symbol and don't know where to find the suitable .sym file. Is there a database of these files? Other option would be of course to make one myself. However, I would be nice to know how retrieve the .sym files from the existing symbols in Multisim.

Thanks.

Viktar

Hello,

There is not a database with .sym files. However, you can take one of the symbols from the Master database and edit it (if needed). Use the Component Wizard in Multisim to create your custom Schottky diode, when Multisim asks you for the symbol information select Copy from DB; in the Master Database go to the Diodes Group, SCHOTTKY_DIODE Family and select the most appropriate symbol, click OK. If you need to edit this symbol just click Edit to open the Symbol Editor.
