CD4060 & Multisim

Thanks nestor, understood. I will follow your suggestion about 4020.

O.K. doom69. I simulated your circuit with Multisim 2001. I only have the freeware version of Multisim 9 so I am not able to simulate with it. Aparently the 4060 works in 2001 because it timed out in approximately 7 tenths of a second. I will be careful when offering advice because I do use a different version and I am sure there are significant differences between what I have and Multisim 9 (even though the components should be similar). Anyway, I tried.

Edit to my last post. My circuit timed out in 16.4 seconds not 7 tenths of a second. I have no idea where 7 of a second came from.

Hello everyone Smiley Happy

I know this Topic is quite old but I need some help.

I am using ms 13 and I dont know if this results are OK? Because I think that output Q3 should go high after 8 pulses [ 2^(4-1) ]? In simulation output Q3 goes high after 3 pulses from oscilator.

Or maybe I am doing something wrong Smiley Sad

congratulations to NI and Multisim! it is now 2016 and this bug has not been solved yet!

why is this so difficult?

Can't speak for why Multisim does strange things, but having the 4060s Q4-Q13 outputs shorted to ground isn't going to help anything!

Also, that power-on-reset circuit with C2 and R3 would be better going through a Schmitt buffer...
