Did you mean:

trigger daq by itself

Hi,

I have a DAQ PCI-6013, and I would like to trigger an analog acquisition with an external trigger (from a PLC), but I don't have 5V to trigger it, just 24V, however I see the DAQ also has a 5V output, but I don't know if it possible to wire the 5V output of the DAQ via a external relay controlled by a PLC and I can send the 5V output of the DAQ to the PFI0 to trigger the analog acquisition?

Do you know if this is possible? Thanks in advance

Regards,

Alejandro Rodriguez

If the relay turns on a 5V signal, I see no issue.  I have also seen this done with a voltage divider and a transistor.

Thanks I'll give it a try, since I'm building a machine for a customer I didn't want to use a voltage divider or a transistor because of giving a more professional look to the control panel. I was only worried because maybe I could burn the DAQ by doing that wiring, or maybe it would just not trigger the analog acquisition.
