"Have you tried using a different cable to connect the output to the input?"
This is vague... why would I do that? analog scope shows correct. what different cable do you suggest?

I apologize for being unclear. What I meant to ask is: have you tried using a different BNC cable to connect ai0 and ao0? I want to rule out that the BNC cable is faulty.

I have many cables. as I have stated (whatever cable I use) the external scope shows what I expect the DAQ does not.
