Thank you very much for your time and patience. I guess I'll either have to get a cable for the 6036E that I have or try running this from the DIO24. A digital pulse train though can be created just using the digital out right?

Sure, though it might take some work to get the timing, duty cycle, etc. to do what you want. And, it will be software timed.
