Windows 10 will not recognize USB 6211 anymore

Solved!
Go to solution

When inserting the 6211 into a USB port, windows beeps and the device shows up immediately in NI Max with a cryptic code. Error message is that Windows can't find a driver. It used to work and did show up in Max.

Device Manager reports an unknown device.

MX drivers have been reinstalled and computer restarted several times.

I have changed NI's device loader to restart itself if it encounters a problem.

The device runs fine on another computer.

Hints anybody?

I tried re-installing MAX, but it didn't help. (I was out of town, so sorry about slow).

I have now given up, so am now uninstalling all of Labvew and parts, hoping a new installation works.

Thanks for your suggestion.

Well, several hours of uninstalling and reinstalling later, the device is recognized again. It even works in Labview.

The only thing that happened between working and not working was that the trial period for some other Labview products expired. Maybe that messed something up or maybe not.

I just hope that it stays working now.
