Using analog output as sample clock

I am using a PCI 6071E to generate a analog waveform, and make a set of measurements that are clocked by this waveform. Reading through this forum, it seems that I ought to be able to use the analog output as a sample clock for acquiring the measurements. I'm not clear if this means I should wire an analog output to a input or PFI channel, and define a trigger. Is there an article or example that shows how to do this? I would greatly appreciate any suggestions.

Sumit

sumitm,

If you are just trying to use the timing on the PCI 6071E card, you can output the sample clock directly over PFI7 or any of the RTSI lines.  Is there a specific reason that you need to generate a waveform and use this to control the sample speed of your measurements?   If so, how fast/what kind of waveform are you going to be generating?
