POE Ethernet Switch

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

I'm new to ethernet.  I will be connecting two 9188XT Chassis 300 feet apart from one another.  One will be master and one slave.  The master chassis will be enclosed in a box with an an ethernet switch connecting the master, slave, and computer.   The computer using labview will be 300 feet away from the master chassis.  My question is does the ethernet switch need to be poe (power enabled ethernet) or can I use an ethernet router that does not use poe.  Thanks in advance for your replies

The cDAQ-9188XT isn't PoE-capable (it has to be powered from a separate supply). You can use it with an ethernet switch that doesn't support PoE.
