PCL-812 PG Problems

Hello
I'm a student with no DAQ experience at all. Now I'm working for the first
time with labview and DAQ's and can't manage to get the datas on the
computer. The PCL-812 PG Card is already installed, but I don't know how

to continue.
Is there anybody out there who could help me?

Hi Phillip,
Where are you stuck in your installation and with getting started with DAQ.
The best source of information for you is the documentation that came with
your hardware and software. Also get acquainted with online resources that
National Instruments has on its web site. With these tools you should be
able to find
solution for your situation. If not, write to this group with your specific
question.
If you do not see data there could be several reasons - Check if you have
the correct gain
and your reasons for saying that there is no data.

For a DAQ novice, the absolute easiest way to do data acquisition with LabVIEW
is to use a DAQ card from National Instruments. Some advantages: very nice,
high-level VIs to perform I/O operations with the card, right on the LabVIEW
functions palette; lots and lots of example programs (either shipping with
NI-DAQ or available on the NI Web site), and excellent technical support.
Especially for a novice, the investment to replace your Advantech card with an
NI
card could probably be recouped in the form of ease-of-use and free
technical support within the first 3 months of ownership.

However, if $$$ or something else forces you to stick with the Advantech card,
it appears to me that the easiest way to get data from the card would be by
using the LabVIEW driver that they have available. Look on the Advantech Web
site and you should find it. Bear in mind that they charge you money for this
driver software!
