M series devices are only supported by DAQmx. So it is normal that you cant find your device unde "traditionnal NI-DAQ" in MAX.
When you use functions from DAQmx palette, physical channel is setting as Dev1/ai0 (if you want to use channel 0 of analog input). Otherwise, you can create control by right-clicking then create >> control on the entry "physical chanel".
