NI USB-6001 OEM not showing up in MAX

I'm having trouble getting the NI USB-6001 to work at all. This isn't the one that comes in an enclosure, but I've looked at the user guide and it seems like I can simply attach a usb to it and it should work the same. http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/374261a.pdf

The only trouble is I can't seem to get it to show up in MAX. I have another DAQmx that does work so I know it's not the computer. I must be doing it wrong but I have no idea as to what I need to change.

I've installed the lastest driver here: http://sine.ni.com/psp/app/doc/p/id/psp-268

Hi lordmonty,

Did you leave the D+ and D- signals and VBUS (on the 34-pin connector) unconnected? Is this a new USB-6001? Be sure to plug in the device into a USB port on the back of the computer.

This article has a detailed flowchart for troubleshooting DAQ devices not showing up in NI MAX.

Why Can't I Find My DAQ Device in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX)?
